Asana 101
With Beth Rutty

February 15th, 22nd, 29th & March 7th
8:15-9:45pm
Kula Burlington

Hatha Yoga is a practice of experiencing the flow of life through movement in your body. Asanas, poses or postures are the forms you take with your body to align and move to feel that flow. The goal is not to have the poses look perfect, but rather to experience the perfect balance between stability and freedom for your unique body, mind and heart.

This 4 week workshop is ideal for you if you’ve just begun your asana practice or if you’ve been practicing but would like to develop a better understanding of how to create the perfect environment to feel at ease in asana – stable and free.

We’ll dissect general form, alignment and actions exploring asana through a few key poses. The insight you develop can give you the confidence to enter into any yoga class and be able to honour yourself fully no matter the pace of the practice.

Advanced Restorative Workshop

With Shelly & Allan

Monday, February 27th & March 5th
6:30-8:30pm
Kula Burlington

Looking for an opportunity to explore restorative yoga more deeply, Shelley and Allan will be conducting two sessions to explore some of the more advanced restorative yoga postures and sequences that may ease the effects of fatigue and blues that often arrive in mid-winter.

This workshop is for those who have a regular restorative practice and those who have experience with restorative yoga.  It will explore restorative inversions and backbends in sequences that can reduce fatigue and ease back pain.

Restorative yoga employs the systematic use of posture and supportive props to divert our sensory experience away from the outer world to the inner world thereby enabling the body’s own healing potential to arise organically.

YEM™: Yoga as Energy Medicine
With Parvati Devi

Saturday, March 10, 2012
1:30-4:30pm
Kula Oakville

“Learn to direct consciousness with awareness into areas of the body in need of healing while animating your yoga practice from deep within.”

All matter is made of energy of various densities vibrating at varying rates. Our physical body is a bio-dynamic field that shifts and fluctuates according to our changing states of consciousness. "Yoga" or "union" involves resting in the joining of both matter and consciousness. The practice of yoga asana and meditation cultivates a deepening relationship with both matter and consciousness and nurtures the delightful play (Lila) that exists there.

In this workshop, through mindful-breathing, energy-work and subtle attention to yoga postures, we will explore how to let the body become more receptive to pure consciousness, as well as how to cultivate greater attention to the flow of consciousness through the body. We will learn to direct conscious awareness into areas of the body in need of healing while animating our yoga practice from deep within. Participants will gain greater mastery of their energy system in relation to Yoga practice and healing. This workshop will provide material that is applicable to each person's unique style of Yoga asana, while offering rooted and expansive vitality in one’s practice and joy of being.

All levels of yoga practitioners welcome.

Registration:
$35 + HST Early (until February 25th)
